Google released Android 4.1.1 update for the Google Nexus 7 and the Google Galaxy Nexus.
You should check to see if there’s an update waiting for you. Coming in at a whopping 12.6 MB, the update is small, and pushes your tablet up to Android 4.1.1.The exception of the appearance of Google Wallet. Whether or not you’ll use Google’s mobile payment service is a whole other question, but we’re glad to see it didn’t take long to show up to the party. Since the application is installed into the system, you can’t uninstall it.
Other than Google Wallet’s appearance on the Nexus 7, the update is likely not much more than a bug-fixing update.
After re-appearing in the Play Store, the Galaxy Nexus is now getting Android 4.1.1, at least the GSM iteration. The Android 4.1 update will soon be making its way to the GSM Samsung Nexus S and the Motorola Xoom in the coming weeks, but the likes of the Verizon Galaxy Nexus and Sprint Nexus S 4G won’t see such luck. Since updates need to go through carriers with those devices, there’s no telling when Jelly Bean will arrive.
